They will take you to your first stop, a 4* hotel in the heart of the city. Take a panoramic city tour of Bucharest and discover the city’s eclectic mixture of architecture: the Revolution Square, Victory Avenue, the Romanian Athenaeum, the University Square and the Arch of Triumph. A more recent and long disputed attraction is the Parliament’s Palace, the second largest building in the world after the Pentagon, built by the dictator Nicolae Ceausecu. This first evening will be enriched by a traditional dinner with entertainment show in one of the famous Bucharest restaurants. Accommodation in a 4* hotel in Bucharest.
Day 2 Bucharest- Tulcea (280 km)
After a rich breakfast, take a long journey to Tulcea, the gateway to the Danube Delta. Prepare next for a boat trip on Danube Delta. Exploring the wilderness of the Danube Delta is the experience of a lifetime. One of Europe’s best-kept secrets, the Delta is an excellent conservation area and a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. The lakes, channels and estuaries of the vast Danube Delta are a paradise for birds and a large variety of fish species as well. Arrival in Crisan village, just in the middle of the delta. Accommodation in a 4* complex. Lunch in the hotel’s restaurant. Free time for recreation, relaxing, sunbathing, swimming or other recreational activities. Dinner with local fish specialties in the 4* hotel.
Day 3-4- 5 Danube Delta
After breakfast, prepare your eyes for a huge day of bird, watching crossing great lakes, and breathtaking canals, gaining a unique perspective on the area and its wildlife. We will also have the opportunity to visit one of the isolated islands where we will be able to explore on foot and see the way of life in one of the remote villages of the area. By visiting several habitats within the Delta, we should have amassed an impressive total of species by the end of our visit; however, the enduring memory of a trip to the Delta is the sheer spectacle of hundreds of pelicans, herons and cormorants constantly flying to and from their vast breeding colonies. We explore the lakes and channels by small boats, hoping to spot wildlife such as deer, pelicans and storks.
We will visit lakes along the Sontea Chanel where Little Egrets, Great-white Egrets, Squacco Herons, Night Herons, Purple Herons, Spoonbills, Glossy Ibises, Pygmy Cormorants and Great Cormorants can be seen when they move to or back from the feeding places to the colonies. Flocks of White Pelicans are a daily attraction when they move from their breeding colony to feeding places. The biggest colony in Europe, with more than 2000 pairs is found here, in the northern part of the Danube Delta.
Both nights we return to our hosts in the village of Crisan, who offer us an excellent opportunity to understand the ways of this magical region.
Day 6 Tulcea- Bucharest (280 km)
After breakfast transfer back to Tulcea and then to Bucharest International Airport. The journey in the Danube Delta has finished but you go home with your batteries recharged, with a lot of photos and unforgettable memories.
