After a refreshment break take a guided tour of Sibiu through the historic core of the medieval city. The fortified city has been the center of Romania’s German minority since medieval times and it is one of Romania’s most beautiful cities. You discover the Big and the Small Square, the Liar’s Bridge, the Evangelical Church and the Brukenthal Museum, the oldest museum in Romania. Accommodation is in a 4 * hotel. You will enjoy a traditional Saxon dinner in one of Sibiu’s finest restaurants.
Saturday – Sibiu-Biertan-Sighisoara-Sibiu (95 km)
Today you will discover Sighisoara Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Founded by Saxons during the 12th century, Sighisoara still stands as one of Europe’s most beautiful inhabited fortified citadels. It is also the place where Vlad the Impaler, also known as Dracula, was born. On the way to Sighisoara stop in the Saxon village of Biertan to visit the fortress church. The architectonic ensemble from Biertan impresses by a harmonious matching in position, by its aesthetic and historic value and especially by the original substance preserved since the end of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th century, characteristics which determined its inclusion on The UNESCO List of World Patrimony. Arrival in Sighisoara and short walking tour of the medieval citadel. Tour highlights: The Clock Tower & History Museum, The Church on the Hill, House of Dracula, the German cemetery. In the afternoon drive back to Sibiu. Accommodation in a 4* hotel in the city center.
